VITAGLUCIDENew

ContentsVITAGLUCIDE
  • TIRZEPATIDE 5mg Vials (for SC or IM Administration) X 5
  • Ampoule: 2ml Sterile Water for Injection X 5
DescriptionVITAGLUCIDE, a dual glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and GLP-1 receptor agonist, mimics natural incretin hormones to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes. It enhances insulin secretion, reduces glucagon levels, slows gastric emptying, curbs appetite, and supports significant weight loss.

Additionally, VITAGLUCIDE may reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events such as stroke, heart attack, and cardiovascular-related death in individuals with type 2 diabetes and known heart disease.
AdministrationIntramuscular (IM) or Subcutaneous (SC) injection.
Storage
  • Before reconstitution: Store at room temperature, away from heat and direct sunlight.
  • After reconstitution: Store refrigerated at 2–8°C.
  • Use within the recommended period post-reconstitution.
DosageFor most patients, the recommended starting dosage of VITAGLUCIDE is 2.5 mg once weekly, followed by escalation to 5mg, and up to 10mg or 15mg weekly as tolerated.

Gradual dose escalation helps minimize gastrointestinal side effects and improves patient compliance.

Individualized titration based on patient response, tolerability, and clinical goals is recommended. Close medical supervision is advised during dose adjustments.
ContraindicationsDo not use VITAGLUCIDE if:
  • You or your family has a history of medullary thyroid carcinoma(MTC).
  • You have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).
  • You are allergic to tirzepatide or any component of the formulation.
Special Precautions
  • Thyroid Tumors: In animal studies, tirzepatide caused thyroid C-cell tumors. Although the risk in humans is unknown, avoid in individuals at risk for MTC.
  • Pancreatitis: Monitor for severe abdominal pain; discontinue if pancreatitis is suspected.
  • Renal Impairment: Use cautiously; dehydration from gastrointestinal symptoms may worsen renal function.
  • Diabetic Retinopathy: Worsening of retinopathy may occur with rapid glucose improvements—monitor closely.
  • Pregnancy & Lactation: Safety not established. Avoid use during pregnancy and lactation.
Adverse Drug Reactions
  • Common: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, decreased appetite, abdominal discomfort.
  • Rare: Injection site reactions, hypersensitivity, dehydration, gallbladder disease, changes in vision, and thyroid-related disorders.
Drug InteractionsUse caution when co-administering with:
  • Insulin or sulfonylureas – risk of hypoglycemia
  • Oral medications – delayed gastric emptying may affect absorption
  • Always review the patient’s full medication history and monitor accordingly when starting VITAGLUCIDE.
